V Festivaaaaaaal

Hellooo

On Friday the 16th me and my friend Anna got a coach to go to V festival (my first ever festival) in Weston Park (near stafford), it was meant to take about three and a half hours.. it actually took 5 and a half from being stuck in 8 miles of traffic for TWO HOURS - as you can imagine; this was not fun. But we did finally arrive, we had to then make the fun walk with so much stuff in the boiling heat the find a space for our tent.. this felt like forever, but again we did make it. Once we found a space we literally just laid there for a while, when we finally regained some energy we managed to very successfully put up a five man tent (just for us two.. very spacious ;)).

Me, Anna and my first experience of UV paint

On the first night there were no performers, but there was a really good DJ in the cocktail bar, so we had a wonder around got some chinese then basically stayed there the whole night. Saturday was when it really started, we saw The Saturdays, Scouting For Girls, Tom Odell, Seasick Steve (we went there so we could be at the front for rudimental.. but to my surprise he was actually really good!), Rudimental, Eels (again went there to be early for Ellie Goulding), Ellie Goulding, Rita Ora, and then CALVIN HARRIS. He was the headline act on the 4music stage, and he was INCREDIBLE.. an hour and 45 minutes of pure music, fire, smoke, fireworks.. and me going on my friends shoulders - scary but exciting!!

The day went soooo quickly! On Sunday we met up with some friends that happened to be there, we decided to stay at their tent for a bit - chill and drink in the sun for a bit, we then walked down to the arena and heard some Paloma Faith, watched a little of Of Monsters and Men (I was soooooo gutted because they clashed with Two Door Cinema Club, so I could only hear a couple of songs), then Two Door Cinema Club, Jessie J, The Script - and one song with Labrinth, then Beyonceeee.. to be honest she was amazing, but a bit of a let down - she was the only act of the whole festival to be late - by half an hour, and she had loads of unecessary outfit changes and only sang clips of a few songs.. she was meant to be on stage for an hour and 45 minutes, she was physically only on stage I'd say for about half an hour :( aaaand there was no encore.

Apart from being a bit let down by beyonce (since there was so much hype), the portaloos - although they could have been a lot worse, the uncomfortable sleeping, and missing most of Of Monsters and Men; I had an amaaaazing weekend! Hahahaa :) I have to say lots of the acts were amazing, but my top three have to be Calvin Harris, Two Door Cinema Club and Ellie Goulding. I probably would go to another festival, but next on my plans to save for is a holiday! Now for lots of pictures..

The Liebster Award.

Hellooo

I have been tagged by Lucy for the Liebster Award Tag, so first of all.. thank you Lucy! :)

What I must do:

Answer 11 questions from the person who tagged me
Then I have to create 11 questions for 11 people who I tag.. however, the blogs must have under 200 followers.

The questions I have to answer:

1. Who inspired you to start blogging?

I'm not really sure if I'm honest! I've always thought blogging seemed fun.. I think I remember watching 'The Perfect Man' - starring Hilary Duff who wrote a blog about her life and it seemed fun. But no one in particular that I can think of!

2. How would you describe your style?
I do try to stick with the current trends, which means that my style does change even if I don't really realise it at the time.. but looking at past photos WOW I really notice a change - I do not understand how some things were fashionable! (I'm sure I'll be saying it in the future again even if I can't imagine it now! ;)) But yeah currently I'm liking top buttons, maxi skirts, midi dresses.. basically anything in the shop now - I like to shop a lot if you couldn't already tell!

3. What is your signature fragrance?
Again I buy a lot of perfume, but I have loved for a while the Chloe perfume (with a creamy brown ribbon I think, one of the original ones!) I think it smells so good, I always wore it at school - definitely need to pick up another bottle :)

4. Would you rather have the perfect lipstick or the perfect pair of shoes?
Up until recently I would have said the perfect pair of shoes by a mile, but now I don't know.. I think I would have to say the perfect lipstick! I've really been loving lipsticks and lip butters; I was always a lip gloss girl until recently. I just think lipstick can completely change a whole look!

5. Who is your favourite designer?
Umm, I love so many clothes, but I'm going to say Topshop.. even if this isn't technically a 'designer' someone had to design the clothes ;) and I'd now say that is my favourite shop.. I LOVE IT!

6. How long have you been blogging for?
My first blog post was on the 5th of September 2012 - I finally took the plunge! Click HERE to read it.. not that it's very exciting hahaa. Wow so much has changed! When I wrote that post not for one minute did I think anyone was actually going to read it, but I now have 54 followers on Google Friend Connect - that may not seem like much to some people, but for me that's more than I ever imagined.. so thank you for anyone that has read or commented on any of my posts.. or followed me on GFC or Bloglovin' :')

7. Would you rather spend a long time on your hair or on your makeup?
Again when I was at school I easily would have said hair.. I had many a fight with it! But now I can actually get my hair done pretty quickly.. I think I've mastered it, make up on the other hand, the more I learn and like it - the longer I know take as there are more products to try and use!! (Not that I'm complaining I love it! :)

8. What is your favourite online shopping website and why?
I honestly don't really shop online, I occasionally look online to see what's new but very rarely as I am often near shops so I can just pop in and have a look. The only website I really buy anything off is Amazon!! It's just so easy, free delievery and I only ever really buy CD's, phone accessories and DVD's from here.. I do love me some boxsets (I've just bought every season of Gossip Girl, I just love it so much! xoxo ;) )

9. What is one thing that you have learnt from blogging?
I'd have to say write what you want to write. Don't just write a post because you think it's what other people want to read, or 'oh this will get me followers'.. no. You should write what you want to write, because blogging - although it is good to entertain other people - should be something that you want to do, and should make you happy. So if you don't write a post for a few weeks *cough* me *cough* then you shouldn't feel pressured to write something just to please other people. Wow this turned a bit deeper than I meant to!

10. Short dress or maxi dress?
Hmm this is a hard one (if you haven't guessed, I'm Libra.. I find it very hard to make decisions for myself!), I'd have to say short dress, although I am really loving maxi skirts. But that isn't technically what you asked, so I'd have to say short dresses for the win.

11. What would you wear for a summer's walk in the park?

Living in England I'd have to say layers. No, only joking.. we've actually had a long spell of amaaazing weather, I still can't believe it! Well until recently.. now the rain is back! But imagining it's still the nice hot weather, I'd have to say my bright orange/red maxi skirt with a little black string vest, some cute sandals, my chunky watch, my big topshop back and maybe a statement necklace. I'd have quite natural make up, but maybe spice it up with a bright lip that matches the skirt, and have my hair down with some curls and the end. But if it's really hot with no wind, switch the maxi skirt for my grey acid wash skater skirt :)

Now, here I my questions:

1. Why did you start blogging?
2. What's your favourite make up look?
3. What's your favourite beauty brand?
4.What's your favorite shop?
5. Shoes or bags?
6. Would you prefer a statement necklace or something simple?
7. Where is your dream holiday location and why?
8. Shower or bath?
9. Heels or flats?
10. What's your favourite nail colour?
11. If you could only buy one item of make up for the rest of you life what would it be and why?

Bloggers I Tag:

Thanks for reading, and even if I didn't tag you officially, I tag you NOW.. feel free to answer the questions and leave your blog post in a comment below! :)

May and June favourites.

Hellooo

Wow, I can't believe it.. half of the year has already flown by! By the time I realised May was over, I thought it was too late to say about my monthly favourites - so I've decided to combine my May and June favourites. Let's begin!

Beauty Favourites

Toni & Guy Glamour Firm
Hold Hairspray
Toni & Guy Glamour Firm Hold Hairspray - £6.39 - I LOVE this hairspray, I've been using it basically every day of May and June. I'm not really sure why but I never used to really wear hairspray unless I curled it, but this hairspray does not turn your hair rock solid, it just holds it a little extra - I definitely wouldn't say it is 'firm hold'.. but it may be for an up-do. Either way, I'm loving it and will definitely be repurchasing it!

OPI Rapidry Top Coat
OPI Rapidry Top Coat - £13.25 - I wrote a review HERE so I won't go on about this, basically, it allows me to paint my nails easier as it makes them dry much quicker - so for people like me who always smudge their nails, it's perfect :)

Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer - £5.49 - I really like this concealer, but only really for under the eyes as it does have a 'radiant glow' so basically illuminating/highlighting, which is great for dark circles.. but not what you want for blemishes! It's not too thick, or too thin (great description I know), but yeah.. definitely try this - especially if you like the wake me up foundation.
Rimmel Wake Me Up
Concealer

L'Oréal Paris Super Liner Eyeliner - £5.55 - I have been using this eyeliner for a few years now.. even though I've only ever had to buy one - probably should have thrown it out a while ago! But I only occasionally used liquid eyeliner, whereas throughout May and June I have been using it very frequently, but only across the lid - no winged eye. I thought it had been discontinued, but I found it in Superdrug (thank goodness!), it's just so easy to apply - definite recommendation!
L'Oréal Super Liner

L'Oréal Paris Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Ourifying Micellar Solution - £3.33 -  This is a cleanser for the face, eyes and lips and is suitable for sensitive skin. It says that it 'dissolves make up, unclogs pores and removes impurities and tones and soothes skin', I use this to remove my mascara and a quick sweep of my face to remove most of my make up before I continue on with my cleanser.

Dove Summer Glow (Fair To Medium Skin) - £2.49 - Recently I've really been trying to moisturise all of my skin (rather than just my face), so I thought I may as well try to get a slight glow to my skin at the same time! It just gives me a slightly more bronzed feel - but very gradually, I don't put too much on.. if you do buy this make sure you apply it in circular motions and really rub it in - oh and WASH YOUR HANDS after :) Another bonus of this.. super cheap, and such a nice smell!

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint (Passion Fruit) - £3.99 - This is such a summer shade, it is so vibrant and bright - it'a a red/orange (surprise, surprise).. but it's also super shiny because of the Barry M formula. Great price, and great product!

Non Beauty Favourites

Gold Tone Triangle Finger Top Midi Rings: River Island - £2 - I'm loving the above the knuckle rings.. I was slightly unsure at first, but I decided to get them anyway as they were only £2! And wow, they were definitely worth it.. they are so different, I love them :)

MS MR - I love this band, I first heard them on Radio 1.. I have not stopped listening to them over the past couple months. And now, their album is finally out so I can listen to a whole album rather than just a few songs on repeat! I'm not even sure how to describe it, alternative pop.. not a clue! Seriously just go check them out on youtube :)

Crystal Fighters - Another band I have been loving is Crystal Fighters, they are an 'alternative dance band', their album is called 'Cave Rave' - I LOVE it! There is such a mix of songs, it's impossible not to like at least one of them.. but I love them all. I really want to go and see them in concert, I just need to find someone else who likes them!! Again, go have a gander at them on youtube.

Sorry that I had to combine my favourites, May and June were very busy months - exams and finishing college! But now that that is over, I'm hoping to put a lot more time into my blog :) Thanks for reading.. and please let me know some of your monthly favourites!

What a fun little weekend.

Helloooo

So this weekend I have spent a lot of time with my friend Natasha (check out her blog HERE), she has turned 18 today.. so HAAAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Me in the garden for the night out :)

Mint choc chip icing on cupcakes, with flake topping!

On Friday I went over Natasha's house, and well.. made food. We made some cupcakes for her birthday (the icing lasted nice, and had the right colour.. but well was a little too smooth shall we say :S) - hopefully they went down okay though.. apologies if they did not!

Homity Pie

Then after doing a little bit of nothing, we made something known as a 'homity pie'. I had NEVER heard of this before, but ooooooh.. it was tasty! It's basically pastry, potato, onion, cheese and bacon - oh so healthy, we could have made it healthier, but decided against it.

Natasha's pretty photo.. I wasn't clever enough to take one
of the fire!

In the evening a group of us went to the beach for a bonfire, toasting marshmallows (as well as nearly my eyebrows/face), and simply throwing multiple tennis balls.. sounds pretty simple, and it was but it was really fun, especially as it wasn't freezing :)

On Saturday I went round to Natasha's again (I'm sure she'll just pretend she's moved soon ;)), I filmed - well hopefully successfully - a video of Beckii doing Natasha's make up for the night out (Beckii's youtube), then got ready myself.. by this point the rest of Natasha's friends were basically arriving. We just chilled for a bit and had some chinese, then we HIT THE TOWN.. well a bar as the 'club' was shut. But it was fun, we had some drinks, and I met lots of new people as I didn't go to the same school as Natasha :) Then we got in at about 1ish, so not too bad. At this point it's sunday, so NATASHA'S BIRTHDAY! She then had the joy of me sleeping over and having my face to be the first to see when she woke up as just a slightly older 18 year old - therefore adult! I hope you had a fun weekend Natasha, and thanks for involving me.. and providing me with food and shelter ;) hahaha.

Ashleigh, Lauren, Natasha, Hannah, Lucy, Me and Tara

Overall it was a very nice weekend :D ..anybody do anything fun over the weekend? Go wild - Comment below.
..Also there are also always rumours about Google reader/Google friend connect closing - so if you do fancy following me (which would make me very happy) be sure to follow on GFC and Bloglovin' (because bloglovin' seems to be here to stay!)

The best cookie recipe.. EVER.

Hellooo

I recently made the most AMAZING cookies ever, so I just had to share the recipe. I found it from watching Tanya Burr's Youtube (the link goes to the video), and they looked so good I had to try them. I'd never made cookies before; I'm more of a cupcake maker, but I've always wanted to try them.. so I thought why not!

So if you want to try to make the most amazing triple chocolate cookies then read ahead!

Ingredients (Makes 12..ish)
200g unsalted butter, 300g caster sugar, 1 large egg, 275g self-raising flour, 75g cocoa powder, two BIG bars of chocolate (white and milk), a splash of milk.
..these ingredients are obviously not mandatory, you could add some dark chocolate, or some nuts - whatever you think you'd like the best!

Recipe
Preheat your oven to 220°C (200°C for fan assisted).

They really were sooo nice (but you definitely only need one.. very filling!) I had many compliments :) I had mine with some milk - I love anything chocolatey with milk, but I'm sure many of you would have tea (I hate tea..). The best thing was that they were so quick and easy to make. They tasted great that day, and even tasted great a few days later - which surprised me. So if you want to make them, but think they will go horrible in a few days, don't worry they should be fine if kept in an air tight container.

I hope some of you try them, any questions leave them below.. and please if you do make them, write a post and leave a link below, so I can see how yours turned out!
