February favourites.

Hellooo!

It's nearing the end of February - crazy I know - so I thought I'd do my 'February favourites', a list of my favourite beauty/fashion products this month. As this is my first favourites post, I've gone a little mad (including some of my favourites from previous months) and couldn't condense it anymore!.. I did try :) It is quite a long post - I am sorry about that - but you can always just skip to a certain item if you are intrigued :)

Jewellery:

Miss Selfridge necklace: £10 - I wasn't sure about buying it at first, but it was 20% off so it went down to £8 and I thought why not.. and now I'm super happy I bought it, I just think of spring and summer when I look at it because of the pink and green :) But as it has black on it also, it makes it a lot easier to wear with lots of things - day or night.
Variety of my favourite rings to wear: I never used to wear rings, but now I love to wear a few rings at a time :) They are all rings from sets and they were on sale so they only worked out around 50p each!

Cleansing etc:

Taaj micellaire water: £16 - I believe this is what I paid, it came with a 500ml bottle and 100ml bottle. I just use the small bottle and refill it from the big bottle, as the little bottle is much easier to handle and take places. I bought it from Amazon, as it isn't easy to purchase in the UK. By searching on google there will be websites to find it. It's great for removing makeup, especially mascara, and it leaves my face feeling fresh.
Origins united state toner: £17 - Yes, again this is quite pricey.. but it's worth it. I'd never go back to using clearasil or whatever, it just feels so good on my face. I use it after my cleanser and before my moisturiser. I bought it from house of fraser, at the special origins counter, they were great. They looked at my skins and chose the best products for me to buy - without pressuring me.. I also now have a free facial there every six weeks.. BONUS. This is currently my second bottle, and will definitely be re-purchasing.

Origins ginger souffle whipped body cream 200ml: £23 - As you can tell origins isn't a cheap brand, but it is worth it.. especially as a treat! Their products are all natural, nooo chemicals - so, great for the skin. I actually asked for a few products for christmas, so luckily my bank didn't take a hit ;) This product I didn't ask for, it actually came free as my total was over a certain amount (a special deal they were doing.. so look out for them, everyone loves free things!). I put it on after a shower or bath, especially after shaving, it leaves my skin so moisturised, but doesn't take long to dry - so quickly just changes my skin to amazing softness! It is a cream.. but not heavy (as it is a 'souffle whipped cream'). I wasn't sure about the smell at first, but I do actually like it, I may look at the other body creams once this is used up :) ..I'm a lover of origins products and highly recommend everyone to go and look!

Makeup:

Rimmel wake me up foundation: £7.99 - I'd heard good reviews about this foundation, as so I thought I'd give it a try.. turns out those reviews were correct! It is very reasonably priced, and can be found in most drug stores. It is light to medium coverage, it's easy to build if you like a heavier foundation. It's very smooth, and oddly, I really like the smell of it.. reminds me of summer :) My shade is ivory, as I have very light skin - hopefully the sun will come out soon and change that!
Topshop lipsticks - in shades 'whimsical' and 'nevada': £8 each - I have written about these in my previous post (http://phlerbler.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/i-should-not-be-allowed-into-topshop.html) so I won't go on about these. They are moisturising, pigmented, look great with or without a gloss over the top, and I think over spring/summer I'll love these even more.. I'll definitely be buying more Topshop lipsticks in the near future!

Benefits 'That gal brightening face primer': £21.50 - This product is quite pricey, but I just think benefit products are so cute! It's to be used under or over makeup, it smoothes and brightens the skin.

Benefits 'Fine-one-one sheer brightening colour for cheeks and lips': £23.50 - Again a pricey product, but it can be used for cheeks and lips - so really two products in one, not too bad for price (that's what I'm telling myself). I really love this - great for spring/summer. It's a cream-to-powder formula and so it's smooth, and not heavy on the face, easy to blend, and feels extremely moisturising on the lips. It comes with a pink champagne (acts as a highlighter), pink watermelon and soft coral. It's easy to use, but does come with an instruction booklet so I won't go on.. but I'll be doing a post on 'my everyday makeup' soon, where I will explain how to use it :)

Random items:

Orchid and coconut candle: £4.99 - This candle smells so good! I just couldn't resist. It's from Sainsburys and they had a huge range of candles, I could have bought loads - but I thought I would try this one first :)

Carmex SPF15 cherry moisurising lip balm: £2-3 - I bought this a while ago, but have only just recently started to regularly use it, I prefer to tube over the pot, but I like a choice ;) It smells amaazing, and my lips are now sooo smooth! It's not an over night miracle, I have used it regularly for a couple of weeks, but now I can't see myself without it. It's also good to put on a minute before lipsticks - I just find it makes them look nicer (little tip there :p).

OPI nail envy: £18 (but can probably be found cheaper online) - my nails were feeling weak, and so my friend recommended this, yes I probably overpaid, but it really strengthened my nails.. very quickly too! Leaves your nails nice and shiny too :)
Tangle teezer: £10..ish - I bought mine from boots, but are sold in other stores and some salons. I'd heard so many people rave about these, so I gave into pressure and just bought one.. and I'm happy I did! MY hair doesn't get very knotty but it's great for after the shower or bath when you have wet, messy hair. It easily brushes though the hair - without ripping half of your hair out! I have long hair, but I want it longer, so I thought this may take more care of it. I would highly recommend this product for hair that gets knotty easily.. plus it looks super cute and comes in a range of colours (although pink was the only option in the small shop where I live).

Firstly sorry for all the gaps, the pictures were not working with me! Secondly, sorry for the overly long post!! I promise the next one won't be this long, but as I've been ill and haven't blogged in a while I thought why not, it is easy to blab on here with no one to stop you! Anyway, feel free to leave questions about any of the products, or tell us about any of your February favourites :)

I should not be allowed into Topshop with money.

Hellooo

So.. today I may have accidently walked into Topshop - not good for my bank account. I actually managed not to buy too many things, just a hat (which was on sale), such a cute moustache necklace, and two of their lipsticks.

I've bought Topshop nail varnishes before and love them, but never have I bought the lipsticks. I've heard amazing reviews though - so I thought.. why not! They cost £8 each (then 10% off for student discount - WIN), which isn't actually too bad as I've paid over £20 for a Chanel lipstick a few times, plus they are VERY pigmented, and moisturising.. 'matte finish moisturising lipstick' to be precise :) I decided to go for two nudes as I really am counting the days for spring/summer.

I thought the 'whimsical' lipstick just screamed summer; it's just so cute, even the name.. it is slightly different than the picture, it's a slightly stronger pinky nude than the picture shows, and 'nevada' is a pale nude. I'm planning to either where them just on their own, but also with a clear lip gloss on for a slight change.. especially in the evenings.

Topshop lipstick - Whimsical £8

Topshop lipstick - Nevada £8

So this is a slightly different blog post, a bit more specific. I think I'll try and write slightly more about beauty products, or just more reviews (not always on beauty products). Anyway, hope you enjoyed reading!

Who invented exams?

Hellooo,

So two weeks into the year, I had my first real exam.. well a retake. I decided to retake my geography AS level exam - all to get a couple extra marks to boost me up a grade, I'm unsure why I didn't just try harder with my A2 exams to get a better mark??

..Anyway, I decided to retake, so to make Mondays even more enjoyable I threw a two hour exam in there. I was not looking forward to it, I didn't think I would be able to answer anything - but to my surprise I did.. WIN. Well hopefully the answers I've written are right :S I'm just thinking hopefully I've done better if not I get to keep my original grade :) and it has gotten me into the exam mind set now, which is handy as I have 3 others left in the next two weeks.

I'm trying to remain calm and prepared so I won't stress out. The thing is I think I'm good at giving advice, I just wish I could take my own advice! So, if you're doing exams, I'd say drink lots of water, and try to eat healthily to keep yourself full of energy, try to keep calm, don't revise for hours - make sure you take breaks, and go do some exercise if you're feeling stressed.. or watch some TV (which ever you'd prefer.. but not for too long ;)) and think of everything you can do after your exams, that's what I'm doing.! I'm going to newquay (somewhere in Cornwall) for 3 nights for two of my friends 18th birthdays, and the house we're staying in looks AMAZING - and only £40 for 3 nights! So I just keep thinking of that!
These are two of the rooms, look amazing right?!
Anyway, this was a bit of a random post but I just thought I'd mention my exams, and some advice with dealing with exams. I don't know who made exams, but I'm not that fond of them if I'm honest! If anyone else has any tips with dealing with exams then feel free to share :)

Resolutions anyone?

Hellooo,

IT'S 2013!!!!!! :) we survived they end of the world.. YAY US. So, to congratulate for new years and living I went out with the girlies. We did go to a tragic club - the kind where there are always some weird old men bobbing around - (only because all my friends are still 17 and they can get in there) but it was soooo busy, and actually quite fun. This was the first time I've actually done something for new years, I do find it is very anti-climatic, so next year I'm going to try my best to go to London next year. This is easily possible, it's only 2 and a half hours away on train, and by then a couple of my friends will be at uni there - so free accommodation.. WIN. This should hopefully make the end of 2013 amazing! This links with my new years resolution..
Lucy, me and Lucy.. and the start of the night, I won't share the later photos - try to have some dignity! ;)

I have to be honest, my life isn't the most exciting, I wish it was more.. and so my new years resolution for 2013 is to be a be more carefree and cray cray. I've already bought some tickets for concerts, and have lots of things planned; so it should be good - fingers crossed!

2013 is going to have big changes for me, for a start I finish college in July, then summer holidays, then.. who knows! I'm still deciding from getting a job, or travelling, or maybe combine them both and work abroad? Either way it's a big choice that will impact my life - ahhhhh, scary!! But it is only the 2nd of January, so I'm trying to be calm about it.. ish.

Anyways, if anyone reading this has any good new years resolutions then feel free to share! :)

IT'S CHRISTMAAAAAS!

MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Yes, it has been a very long time since I last posted, but I thought I'd try and get back into it since I was rather fond of it :) ..and what better time than CHRISTMAS. I you haven't already guessed, I love Christmas. It's just so cute, the pretty decorations, presents, films, and the time that it is acceptable to eat loads of yummy food.

Surprisingly I have not yet opened my advent calendar.. strange I know. But it just doesn't feel like it should be Christmas - 2012 has gone ridiculously fast. I'm trying to get into the spirit though, as I do love it. In my room I have some cute bunting on my curtains with little Christmas hats, a little Christmas tree and sparkly reindeers! :O

Topman jumper, £38
Some of my favourite things this Christmas so far are baking cute treats like my Christmas cupcakes, sparkly Christmas nails, and CHRISTMAS JUMPERS. I have to admit I went out and bought one, and as soon as it was the 1st of December BAM it was on.
This is me rocking my Christmas jumper.. and yes it is from Topman. I just found that the guys jumpers were nicer.. so I bought it. yolo.

From the beauty side as I said, I'm loving sparkly nails. At the moment, I'm thinking having them all sparkly may be a little early, so I'm tending to paint them all a colour then having the 4th finger sparkly. So far I've had red nails, with sparkly red, and right now I'm wearing nude nails, with 'disco' coloured sparkles. Barry m are great for nail varnishes, that's where the red sparkly nail varnish is from, and I got my disco sparkles from rimmel london (it's called disco ball) - with this one you definitely need a something underneath as it is not an all over sparkle. I'm wearing it with another rimmel london nail varnish in the colour caramel cupcake - which is nude, and the name is so cute. They are each only around £2.99 and definitely worth it!

Anyway, this blog post has been a bit all over the shop but I'm just getting back into it. Hope you enjoyed reading :) and i'll be back soon!

I swear alcohol is the devil..

Hellooo.

It's been a while, this weekend I went out.. the place I went is terrible so yes we did have some drinks to try and make it better. It did make it ok, but it was soooo cold. I would have preffered to stay in and watch some films with my friends.

Anyway.. the next morning. I thought I felt ok, and had gotten away with a hangover. BUT - as time went on, I knew this was not the case. I had some breakfast (I had a craving for meat.. so I knew bacon was for me), this did not make me feel any better. So I got into my loungy clothes, grabbed my duvet and watched tv. It's now monday, I drank Saturday, I'm in college.. I swear I'm still hungover. This isn't fun.

WHYYY does alcohol trick you by letting you think you're having fun, then BOOM next morning urrrrgh. I also woke up with a massive bruise and swollen foot, how this happened I can not remember. Although I think the bruise may have been from some bumper cars, the foot though is unexplainable.

Anyway.. I can't write anymore, this has taken so much energy already. If you've got any funny drunken stories, or have had any painful memories of alcohol then comment below :)

This week - back to college.. back to no social life, and discovering some really great skin care products.

Hellooo.

This is my first post for almost a week, that would be because I've been sucked back into college life. I'm in my second year studying A2 psychology, law and geography.. So you can imagine, it's a lot of work. Within my first three days, I have already been set three pieces of work - which includes a huge essay. Oh the joys.

So yeah, I now have like NO social life :'( I go to college five days a week.. but lots of those are half days (bonus) - so that's one decent thing. Then I work all day Saturday, so I have Sunday to rest. And that is my week complete. There just aren't enough hours in the day!

But in those few spare moments I bought some new skincare products, from 'Origins' range. I have been using them for a few days and i'm already noticing a difference.. I'm going to make a post about the products soon, so hopefully you'll read it and find it useful if you want perfect skin :))
